"Clap your hands... Clap your hands...."

Addie finally learned to clap her hands last night. All we have to do is chant "Clap your hands. Clap your hands. " Ad nauseam. Imagine how we look: Two parents, looking and sounding like idiots, and doing everything just to get their little baby to clap her hands.

Tonight, Addie was doing her nightly BANG THE KEYBOAD ritual (yes, she's over her BANG HER HEAD ON THE WALL phase). When we felt that our laptop is on the verge of breaking down, we finally put on our disciplinarian cap and put an end to the madness. All hell broke loose. Fists flying, feet kicking, fake tears flowing -- our baby was really putting on a show of defiance. We didn't know what to do except to say the magic words: "Clap your hands. Clap your hands." She stopped. And clapped her hands.
